2019/20 Nigeria Professional Football League Matchday 9 Fixtures For Wednesday 18th Dec. 2019.

Heartland v Kano Pillars,                     FC Ifeanyi Ubah v Kwara United, Rangers v Plateau United,                Warri Wolves v Wikki Tourists,         Abia Warriors v Jigawa Golden Stars, Enyimba v Lobi Stars,                  Katsina United v Dakkada FC,        Akwa United v Rivers United, Adamawa United v Nasarawa United (all 4pm)

Plateau United have wounded Rangers to contend with at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu as they hope to build on their leadership spot.

In three domestic league home games this season, the Flying Antelopes have lost to MFM (0-1) and newly promoted Dakkada FC (0-2), a situation that led to the change of guard at the managerial level.

Poor in the NPFL and in the continent where they also got thrashed in their first two group matches in the CAF Confederation Cup, Rangers have found themselves in an unlikely place – second from the bottom in the domestic league.

Will they become the second team to beat Plateau United this season after Heartland broke the latter’s unbeaten run on Matchday 7?

Dakkada FC (former Akwa Starlets) are in second place with only two points short of the leaders.

They travel to Katsina to take on Katsina United, who have won three and drawn one of their four home matches this term.

Third placed Lobi Stars will challenge defending champions Enyimba in Aba.

The People’s Elephant suffered a 1-2 loss to Dakkada FC last Sunday and will like to make amends against their visitors who managed a lone goal victory over Abia Warriors in Makurdi in their last match.

While Sunshine Stars, in No 4, wait till tomorrow to play host to Lagos team MFM, Wikki Tourists and Rivers United are presented with the opportunity to move ahead of the Akure team.

Wikki Tourists travel to Warri, while Rivers United are away to Akwa United, who just fired their coach for posting poor results.

Adamawa United, Kwara United and Nasarawa United together with Rangers all constitute the bottom four going into Matchday 9.
