On February 19, Nigerian recording artiste Burna Boy came short at the 2020 BRIT Award.
Burna Boy was nominated for Best International Male artiste at the BRIT Awards 2020 alongside Americans, Bruce Springsteen, Dermot Kennedy, Tyler The Creator as well as Post Malone.
He, however, lost the Best Male International category at the 2020 BRIT Award to the Grammy-winning American rapper, Tyler the Creator.
This also comes after the Grammy nomination that Burna Boy received from his critically-acclaimed album, African Giant. On the night, Burna Boy performed songs like Stormzy‘s ‘Own It’ and especially aced his performance of, ‘Anybody.’
The BRIT Awards 2020 is the 40th edition of the British Phonographic Industry’s annual pop music awards. Jack Whitehall hosted the show for the third year running. Nominations were led by British rapper of Nigerian descent, Dave and singer, Lewis Capaldi.
The 2020 Brit Award has just come to an end and sees the likes of Billie Eilish, Stormzy amongst many others snagging up an award or two.
Big winners on the night were Santan Dave, British-born rapper of Nigerian descent who took home the gong for Album of The Year.
